When a business signs up for an organics program, the sustainability story doesn't end at the truck. It ends with what the finished compost is actually good for — and whether it's safe to put back on the ground.
What STA certification covers
The US Composting Council's Seal of Testing Assurance (STA) is a third-party testing program. Participating facilities sample finished compost on a regular schedule and publish results for heavy metals, pathogens, soluble salts, maturity, and physical contaminants like microplastics. STA-tested compost is the standard agricultural buyers and landscape contractors look for.
Where we sit as a hauler
We are the route, not the facility. Today our material is dropped at a regional receiving site for processing. We're happy to tell any prospective client exactly where their waste is going, what that site's testing posture is, and what changes if and when we shift partners. If a hauler won't name the destination, that's the part to push on.
