Receiving sites are industrial operations. Grinders break, scales need calibration, snow shuts a yard down for a day, a state inspection lands at an awkward time. None of that should mean your bins stop getting emptied.
How we plan for it
- Permitted backup destinations identified before we sign a contract, not after.
- Standing communication with our receiving partner so we know about a pause early, not at the gate.
- Route flexibility — we can hold a load briefly on a refrigerated trailer or reroute the same day rather than landfilling it.
- Clear customer communication if a pickup window has to shift.
When landfilling is the honest answer
If every permitted organics outlet in the region is closed and the material is too far gone to hold, the responsible move is to landfill that single load and tell you. What we won't do is quietly landfill on a normal week and bill it as a compost pickup.
